Guest Bathroom at the Bungalow

The last space we worked on at The Bungalow was the guest bathroom. It’s a small bath that functions as a full bath, but is also the powder bath of the home. We didn’t want to spend a ton of money, but wanted to make it fun and cute. Here is how it looked when we came into the picture:

It already had a really pretty window that we were keeping.  It was a great detail that we could play off of for the rest of the space. Here is that pretty window:

The tile surround was so dated that you hardly noticed the window. We wanted it to be more of a stand out feature.

First, we demoed all of the tile and replaced it with white. We used small penny tile that was in keeping with the same style as the window. It looks good in any space and is extremely reasonably priced.

We added white subway tile to the tub surround. Now, the window stands out and is a focal point. The white plays off the black details of the window and again the subway tile is in keeping with the style of the home and also very reasonably priced. It’s a great look that goes a long way without breaking the bank.

We loved the idea of all of the white, but wanted to bring in a bit of fun, too. We found a great blue vanity online that came with a marble top. It screamed fun. It also contributed to the flow of the house that had already had lots of blue incorporated! It was perfect.

We topped it off with a beautiful polished nickel faucet and replaced the gold vanity hardware with polished nickel.

Adding a statement mirror and lighting was the finishing touch. Using a round mirror softened the look of the whole space. The black on the mirror tied into the black details on the window. We added a bit of flash with the gold lighting.

Here are some additional pics to show you the space:

It’s the perfect, pretty bath that every home needs!
