The Top 5 Design Trends for 2023
Trends come and go every year for the design industry. Some last longer than others. Either way, it’s fun to incorporate them into your home whether there done in a small or more impactful way. These are the top 5 trends we are seeing for this year!
1. Wallpaper has real staying power and it’s staying in 2023! Putting it up in unexpected small spaces creates a bold statement. Use it in bar areas, pantries, even laundry rooms. Of course we love seeing it in larger scale like dining rooms, libraries, bedrooms, and the list can go on forever. If you’re not sure your on board yet, start with a smaller space such as a powder bath. You can never go wrong in here. It creates a small jewel box of a space that everyone can enjoy!
2. Arches are BIG this year! We are seeing them on bookcases, hallways, bathrooms, cabinets and hood design. It’s soft and beautiful and adds an architectural element to all areas that it touches. I’m a huge fan of it! Adding arched mirrors is a great way to implement it without making a huge monetary commitment. Can’t wait to implement this trend with an upcoming project!
3. Infusing color into décor is another trend we are seeing pop up again and again. Green sofas, combined with dark walls, and colorful pops in pillows is just one way we are reimagining and getting away from a neutral palate. Even adding some colors into an already decorated neutral room is a great way to easily update it for the new year.
4. Creating closed, smaller spaces verses big open floor plans is becoming more and more popular. People are feeling their homes are more intimate and inviting when there are smaller rooms instead of a lot of open space that needs to be filled.
5. Vintage is not going anywhere! In fact it’s here for the long haul. You can go all the way or a little bit here and there. Either way, infusing vintage pieces, adds charm and character to your home. You can use art, furniture, and even dishware. All of it’s a bonus!
