Three Ideas to Spruce up Your Home for 2023
At the beginning of the new year, so many of us get the bug to spruce up our home. There are small ways we can do that without spending a fortune that will make our house feel fresh and new.
1. Out with the old, in with the new. Replace pillows in your family room and bedrooms with fresh ones. They are fluffy, clean, and smell good. That goes a long way for making our spaces feel new. Here are some sites that have beautiful options.
2. Get organized! Organize your kitchen drawers, cabinets, and pantry.
Organize your desk.
Organize your closet.
These are just a few areas. You have your whole home. Simply putting items in an organized fashion does wonders for our brains and well-being. It allows us to find things easily. It allows us to find missing items we may have been searching for a long time. It also makes it easier to find items the next time around. I highly recommend doing this at the first of every year. It starts the year off right. You can find tons of inspiration with The Home Edit and the Neat Method.
3. Lastly, this might be the year to rearrange your furniture. That’s right! Simply changing the setup of a room will make it feel completely brand new. It’s amazing how much joy you can get out of your same pieces when they look and feel a bit different. That’s what we did in this home. We went from this set up:
We kept the sofa in the same spot, but moved the swivel chairs in front of the fireplace, and put a club chair on either side of the sofa. Now the room looks like this:
It created a much cozier vibe without buying one object other than some fresh pillows.
There are always small actions we can take to improve our homes. They can cost lots of money and then there are ways to do things on smaller budgets. Either way, it feels good to start the new year with some freshness to our homes!
Until next time,
