How to Better Style your Coffee Table

It’s been a long Spring for all of us stuck in our homes. Not sure about you, but I’ve been going a bit stir crazy.  I keep moving stuff around in the house to give me something to do.  One of the places I tend to redo over and over again is our coffee table. You can style them so many different ways and they all look good! This is such an easy and quick place to make a change. We all have lots of extra items laying around that we can switch out to make the area feel fresh and new. Here are my go to styling tips for your coffee tables.

First, take everything off of the table and start with a fresh slate. It’s just like a book shelf - when it’s empty it’s easier to style than constantly moving everything around. Here are some pretty options if you happen to be in the market:

Next, divide your table into 3 to 4 quadrants.  Each quadrant will have an item(s) in it. This is an easy trick that helps you keep the table from overflowing.

For the first quadrant set up a stack of books. Create layers on your table to add interest and keep it from looking flat. Placing some greenery or flowers on top of the books is one way to give the table those layers and adds color into the mix. Having elevations is a good thing. Here are some of my favorite books:

For the next quadrant, I always like to add a tray to corral and store those items we tend to lose track of, again and again. You know, your tv remotes, matches for candles, etc.  Here are some pretty options:

Adding a pretty candle is a nice touch on the tray. Here are some lovely options:

You can also add flowers in the tray instead of on top of the books.

In the 3rd or last quadrant, add a decorative object. Here are some I’m liking right now:

If you have decided on 4 quadrants you can add another stack of books or another decorative object. If you don’t have any texture on the table this is a good place to add it. Hopefully, your end result will look something like these:

See ya next time!
